Gears of Glory
Gears of Glory, represents my vision of the horse's mighty stance. I designed this piece by constructing a 1/4 in. steel rod base frame to form the basic shape. 18 gauge mild steel pieces are hand hammered and welded together to cover the body frame of the sculpture. Reclaimed gears from farm equipment and bicycles are welded together to create the clockwork look in the belly. Metal strips are hand twisted to create the flowing mane and tail.
Approximate Dimensions: Length from tail to nose - 10 feet, Height from hoof bottom to top of mane - 7.5 feet, Width 2 feet
